These are maps of various collections of photographs in the New York Public Library Photography Collection. Each point will link you the corresponding catalog record(s) in NYPL's Prints & Photographs Online Catalog, and (where available) digitized images and street views of the locations today. Collectively called Photo Geographies, this growing collection of maps represents but a fraction of the Photography Collection's nearly 600,000 photographs. New maps are added regularly. The New York Public Library has recently launched the Photographers' Identities Catalog (pic.nypl.org), a map-centric database of biographical data on more than 115,000 photographers. The initial attempts to get our data online utilized cartodb, and is provided here as Legacy Identities Catalog. The data here static, and provided for historical purposes only. Please visit pic.nypl.org to access the current, more complete data.
